"Yaguchi, George, and I... We believed in you... We believed you'd chosen us for some noble cause... and guided us to a deathless paradise. How could you send that Devil to our world?!"
Aging Devil's Victim (real name unknown) is a former Devil Hunter trapped in the realm of the Aging Devil. He serves as a supporting character in the latter half of the Aging Devil Arc.
Appearance[]
The Aging Devil Victim is a young-to-middle-aged Japanese man with short black hair and short but thick sideburns. His eyebrows are equally thick and his eyes naturally droop downward. He also sports a large mole on his left cheek, in addition to noticeable eyebags, as well as laugh lines that are only visible upon close inspection. During his stay in the Aging Devil’s realm he donned a traditional fundoshi, but adapted to modern clothing after he left.
Personality[]
Prior to entering the Aging Devil's world, he's described as being the perfect Devil Hunter; proud, proficient at his job, sociable and well-respected among his peers. However, he held a deep insecurity about his physical appearance, as he was willing to make a contract with a theoretical Aging Devil just to reverse his signs of aging. Initially, he was fine with this, as he believed that the Aging Devil chose him and a few others for a special purpose. As the years went by, however, his faith in the Aging Devil dwindled, with the final straw being the introduction of Denji into their realm.
After being trapped in the Aging Devil's realm for 82 years, with no one else around his age to accompany him, he slowly began to lose his mind. When Asa was the first person to join him in years, he wrote her off as a hallucination of a former friend that was there to keep him company. He tends to have episodes of mania or insanity where he grips onto any nearby tree and wails, which Yoru reckons is his way of escaping the reality of his current situation. He's also gone out of his way to attempt suicide on multiple occasions as a means of escape, though these attempts proved fruitless.
Despite this, he's shown to still be relatively lucid compared to the other victims of the Aging Devil, as his 82 years of imprisonment is rather paltry compared to the full 1000 years required for an Aging Devil victim to truly lose their sanity. He assists Asa and Denji by informing them of how the realm works, as well as their limitations and the inevitable fate that all of the Aging Devil's victims eventually face. The Aging Devil Victim is also shown to hold a strong moral backbone, as he vehemently protests to Denji carving open the tree-transformed victims, as he believes that due to their long imprisonment they don't deserve more suffering.
Plot[]
Aging Devil arc[]

The Aging Devil victim screeching upon going insane once again.
The Aging Devil victim is first shown shortly after Asa enters the Aging Devil's realm for the first time. He welcomes her to the world, before explaining that he was once a Devil Hunter that accidentally made a contract with the Aging Devil with an offhanded comment in front of a mirror. When Asa asks him where the exit is, he tells her that in his 82 years of being in the realm he hasn't found one. He explains how those trapped in the Aging Devil's realm never tire or get hungry, and any attempt at suicide won't work. He warns Asa that travelling further into the realm will have her encounter the older inhabitants, though they're far more insane than himself. Upon being asked if there truly is no way out, he remarks he heard that one person escaped beforehand, but before he can elaborate he tells her he feels as if he's about to have another manic episode again, before asking her if she's just a hallucination he thought up.[1]

The Aging Devil victim drags the Aging Devil through Pochita's mouth to trap them within its realm.
After Asa flees and returns to him, he explains how the tree-people he encountered are the victims of the Aging Devil who remained in the realm for 1000 years, with their inevitable fate being to rot into soil which will return them to their bodies in the real world.[2] He's shown to have another manic episode as Denji begins to undergo his plan of escape.[3] The man eventually snaps out of it as Denji uses his Bitterness Axe to chop at one of the human trees, protesting that the trees are fellow human beings.[4]
When the young man attempts to do it again, he tells him that these people have lived for thousands of years and he doesn't deserve to cut them down. Denji remarks that they're probably thankful that he's doing this, to which the Aging Devil Victim remarks that the young man is a true Devil.[5] He later watches Denji, Asa, and Yoshida's attempts to break out of the Aging Devil's Realm with utter shock and disbelief.[6][7] Feeling bitter contempt towards the Aging Devil for not only his imprisonment, but also for trapping Denji in with him, he manages to bring the Aging Devil into their own realm, allowing Yoshida to negotiate for their group's freedom. He's later shown attempting to adjust to modern society by working as a construction worker.[8]
Abilities[]
Physical Prowess[]
As a Devil Hunter who was good at his job, the Aging Devil Victim likely had a high level of athleticism and skill in his Devil-hunting work. When aiding Denji's group in battling the Aging Devil, his competence is shown when he dragged the Primal Fear through Pochita's mouth by himself to trap them within its realm.
