Summary[]
The next day Nayuta is having lunch at her school's cafeteria. She orders two of her fellow classmates to give her their desserts to which they immediately comply. The kids discuss that many of their peers are absent today. Some speculate that they had moved away from Tokyo, but one mentions that it's more likely that they're dead. A kid wearing glasses names one of their classmates who had died recently, to which another one corrects them that they're only missing, as if in denial. Nayuta is interested but before she could inquire further a group of heavily armed officers rush into the school and apprehend her.
Meanwhile at a hospital, Asa is going through a nightmare. She's woken up by a news broadcast covering yesterdays attack. Still distressed Asa sits up. An elderly woman next to her notes that her grandkid who was crushed by debris was just about her age. Hospital staff rushes in with more wounded and orders those sitting to make way. An absent minded Asa ponders that Chainsaw Man has saved her life once more. The news broadcast goes on to mention that other countries are showing signs of the Falling Devil's arrival as well, as the sudden changes in gravity are causing natural disasters to occur across the world. The broadcast then switches to Haruka Iseumi giving a speech on TV, looking for recruits for the "Chainsaw Man Society for World Peace." Whilst some members of the audience are initially on board, the host of the show mocks him, causing the crowd to join in at his expense.
Haruka, deeply hurt by this, questions Fami on why she had made him go there in the first place. She retorts that the mockery was necessary and that he shouldn't think about anything. A mysterious figure puts their hands on Haruka's shoulder and backs Fami up, stating that the Chainsaw Man Society will lead society to "a world without evil," with Fami as the movement's brains and Haruka as its face. Haruka relents, frightened by the apparent mastermind, whilst reassuring himself that this is all for the sake of Chainsaw Man.
Denji is stripped to his underpants and tied to a chair in a holding cell. Yoshida expresses his satisfaction for being able to "protect" Denji succesfully. Denji disagrees with Yoshida's definition of "protection". Yoshida informs Denji of the whereabouts of Asa, and once he inquires about where Nayuta and his dogs are, he tells him that they're also "under his protection." Upon hearing this Denji throws himself from the chair furiously vowing to kill Yoshida if they were being treated in a similar way, whilst mockingly offering to do sensual favors for him in exchange for their release. Yoshida declines, at least whilst he's still under their custody and reassures Denji that they mean no harm. Denji snaps back, telling him to go to hell.
