Denji Fan Club (デンジファンクラブ Denji Fan Kurabu?) is the 142nd Chapter of the Chainsaw Man manga.
Summary[]
Nayuta is shown playing at an amusement park, with Denji and Fumiko watching nearby. Fumiko comments on Denji's decision of rejecting the Chainsaw Man Church, with him solemnly admitting that he will do what Yoshida says and not transform into Chainsaw Man again. Fumiko jokes that being Chainsaw Man would've granted him opportunities that a normal person couldn't dream of. Denji retorts that having his responsibilities isn't that great, to which she agrees, commenting that she wouldn't want to also get watched in the bathroom. Noticing the freudian slip, he confronts Fumiko on her spying, to which she tries to blow it off as a simple mistake, and that he shouldn't think much about it. Denji calls her behaviour akin to a stalker, which she says is justified seeing as she's a fan, though this only seems to remind Denji of all of his past romantic interests having ulterior and murderous motives. As he tells her that all his past lovers hated his guts, Fumiko's expression breaks, and she explains she does resent him for not being able to save her parents.
It is revealed that Fumiko's family lived in the same town that his fight against the Gun Fiend took place in, and that their house was destroyed in the conflict; the rubble crushing both of her parents. Despite her pleas, the revving of chainsaws drowned them out, resulting in her parents passing away. Despite this, Fumiko doesn't blame Denji for being unable to save them, as since she saw him turn back into a human - and see that he was not some god but a normal kid - she decided to dedicate her life to helping Denji, not Chainsaw Man, saying she's a fan of him.
Denji tries to take this all in, but he's interrupted by the arrival of Barem, who, on the contrary, says he's a fan of Chainsaw Man. Sitting beside Denji, he notes that he knows Fumiko is with Public Safety and that he's impressed with how thorough they are in terms of security. Denji asks what he wants, only for Barem to playfully pull out a Chainsaw Man-themed lighter and use it to light a cigarette. He states that he has a "fan request" of seeing Chainsaw Man fight again, likely due to how he's able to keep on fighting regardless of what enemy is thrown at him. He then tells him he has a "hunch" that a Devil attack will soon occur in the amusement park's first floor, and that soon those victims will be screaming for Chainsaw Man to help them. It is then shown that the site of the battle will be the park's food court, filled to the brim with parents and children. It's then revealed that Miri, the Whip Hybrid and the Spear Hybrid are there; each of them dreading what they have to do next.
