The Old Me (
Summary[]
A female protester orders the mob to stop attacking Nayuta, and even though the girl killed someone under her control, they shouldn't resort to such animalistic behaviour so quickly. Nayuta notices Barem reach for his gun and attempt to pull the trigger, only to realise he's out of bullets. He pulls the gun up to his head, pretending that Nayuta is trying to get him to kill himself, reigniting the mob's fury.
A flashback occurs, showing Nayuta being led into her home by Denji. She wonders why she feels pity for the man, and more specifically, his heart. Using her chains, she finds out about her past as Makima, and how her goal was to disrupt Denji's private life to awaken Chainsaw Man. Nayuta realizes that destroying this peaceful life, in the very same way her past self had, will make her realize who she truly is. We then see different areas of the two's apartment and all the activities they've done together, as well as Nayuta and Denji playing with the dogs, with the former noticeably enjoying herself. Finally, the two are shown laying down together, with Nayuta calling him stupid and headstrong, but also a student and Chainsaw Man. She asks him what that makes her, and Denji responds by calling her family. He's interrupted, however, by another voice; his own.
An image of a younger Denji mocks his current idolization of the concept of family, considering how he threw it away time and time again to be Chainsaw Man. He then reminds his current self that he murdered his own father, causing the dream to end. We're then shown Denji laying down in a hospital room, making it unclear how much of the flashback were really Nayuta's thoughts.
