Chapter 185

Stomach in Another World (胃 (い) は異 (い) 世 (せ) 界 (かい) , I wa Isekai^?) is the 185th Chapter of the Chainsaw Man manga.

Summary[]

The Aging Devil monologues how their realm has no escape, and the forest is just a side effect of the human brain believing that turning into a tree is the culmination of all thought. They reveal that they're physically now with Public Safety and sitting on top of Tadashi Hasegawa, who says that he can lead the world in the right direction if only he lived longer. The Aging Devil asks Denji on how he could possibly be any different to the countless prisoners who came before him, to which the boy smiles; unlike every prisoner before him, his stomach isn't here, and now that he's spent ages running he's worked up an appetite.

Denji heads back to Asa, only to see her distraught and dishevelled. She did, however, do what she asked and created him an axe (albeit one that was homemade), explaining that she's normally better than this. With a powerful swing, he chops at one of the trees, causing its face to scream. The Public Safety victim screams that the trees are people, but Denji tells him he's aware of that and continues, rupturing the bark and spilling the tree's guts everywhere. Devouring the offal, his ripcord re-emerges on his chest and he pulls it, regenerating Pochita back on Earth. Denji prays for Pochita's success as the Aging Devil informs Public Safety that Chainsaw Man is heading directly towards them.
