Chapter 194

Fun School Festival (楽 (たの) しみ文 (ぶん) 化 (か) 祭 (さい) , Tanoshimi Bunkasai^?) is the 194th Chapter of the Chainsaw Man manga.

Summary[]

Denji notes how he couldn’t sleep due to his libido so he decides to get up before Yoru, tucking her into bed as he does so. Walking past a television, a report states that 900 people died in the fires the prior night while 3,800 are missing. Knowing full well about how dangerous Yoru is, he tells Pochita to watch out since she’ll probably screw him over later down the line, before firing up the stove and cooking up a bunch of potstickers. Yoru eventually wakes up and encounters Denji eating them near the corpse of the ManMan chef, with the boy offering some of his dumplings to her.

Near Fourth East High School, Yoshida and Fumiko are requesting Fami to do some work since Denji’s rampage has left a gap in public safety staffing. Fami refuses due to being on the school’s planning committee for festivities on Tokyo Revival Day. Fumiko is outraged by her priorities but Yoshida offers to have someone take her place. The Famine Devil refuses, saying she has friends on the committee, causing Fumiko to snap; should the Death Devil win and her friends would also be dead. Fami stands up and explains that her drive to protect humanity is because she likes to enjoy new experiences, new food and new people, saying that while Asa and Denji are fun to be around, Public Safety are not. The ensuing silence is interrupted by the arrival of Fami’s two friends, who steal her due to their festival planning meeting being held during karaoke. Fumiko asks Yoshida if they should stop her from leaving, but he’s still hung up over Fami’s comments about not being fun.

Yoru is having fun with Denji by destroying the derelict buildings around Tokyo with her finger gun. He asks her to destroy another one, but before she can fire, Asa regains control and points the finger at him. Staring a nervous Asa down, Denji simply tells Pochita he told him so.
