Chapter 43

Jane Fell Asleep in the Church (ジェーンは教 (きょう) 会 (かい) で眠 (ねむ) った, Jēn wa Kyōkai de Nemutta^?) is the 43rd chapter of the Chainsaw Man manga series.

Summary[]

Reze is chased outside by the scarred man, onto a rooftop. She asks who he is, but he merely responds that she is 'Cheese' to act as bait for Denji. He informs her he plans to peel her face and gouge out her eyes, in order to torture and control Denji. As he lunges at her, she swiftly dodges his attack, swings onto his back, and begins choking him out with little effort. As he slowly dies, she sings a lullaby in Russian.

Standing up, Reze calmly looks down at the Typhoon Devil in a nearby drain. The Devil apologizes to her, calling her "Ms. Reze", as she promises to 'overlook' its accidents in return for removing the scarred man's corpse. Swiftly, she returns to Denji, with a smile on her face.

The next day, the two hang out at the festival. In the evening, they climb atop a hill to view the fireworks. Turning to him, Reze asks him to quit Devil Hunting and run away with her, promising to "Make [him] Happy" and "Protect [him]".
