Summary[]
The next day after the War Devil killed Tanaka and the Class President, Mitaka wakes up in bed realizing she doesn't have any scars from yesterday's attack and ponders whether it might have been a dream. She turns to her side to seemingly come face to face with herself, albeit a version with multiple scars on her face and spiral eyes, sitting on her bed.
The mysterious lookalike orders Asa to eat and go to school, else she'll kill her. Asa still in disbelief whether this is reality, continously pinches her face. Yoru points her hand at the TV broadcast about the two deaths "they" have caused, to prove that this is in fact reality. Asa tries to push her away, frantically denying her involvement in the two murders, only to have her hand go right through Yoru. Yoru reveals that she's only visible to Asa as a hallucination and that she indeed died yesterday but she took over her body, saving her. Finally, Yoru introduces herself to be the War Devil. The two of them walk to school together, Yoru explains that her plan is to wage war with Chainsaw Man, but in order to do so has to assimilate into the high school where he supposedly attends which she can't do it herself as she's unfamiliar with human society.
When they arrive at school, Asa experiences severe anxiety over the thought of meeting her peers again and tells Yoru that she'd rather die than go there. Yoru repeats her threat multiple times without any response from Asa who leans against the wall for support. They are approached by Yoshida who asks if she's okay. Asa gets spooked and quickly responds that she's fine only for Yoru to simultaneously request her to ask the boy about Chainsaw Mans whereabouts. Asa tells Yoru to shut up for a second which confuses Yoshida, to which Asa quickly corrects herself that she wasn't talking to him.
Yoru gets frustrated and forces Asa out of her body, assuming control. She asks Yoshida where Chainsaw Man is, to which he answers that he has just transferred here so he is unaware. What he does know is that there is a rumor that he joined the Devil Hunter Club. Satisfied with this new information, the War Devil then asks the boy if he wants to become her boyfriend, which he swiftly declines and walks away.
Asa gets utterly embarrassed and in a panic asks Yoru why she did it. The War Devil reveals to Asa that she can turn anything and anyone that belongs to her into a weapon, and her goal is to turn as many humans as possible into weapons so she can wage war on Chainsaw Man. As Mitaka realizes the weight of the situation she has found herself in, she contemplates contacting a Devil Hunter only for Yoru to appear right next to her revealing that she can hear her every thought. The War Devil offers to return her body if she cooperates and Asa agrees, desperate to have her body back.
Following on the tip from Yoshida, she enrolls in the Devil Hunter Club where she is paired with two other students to hunt down a devil by the end of the week as initiation into the club. Much to Asa's embarrassment she is paired with Yoshida whom Yoru awkwardly asked out earlier today.
