Special Division 5 (
The division solely consists of Makima and the Weapon Devil Hybrids, who had previously worked for her and the other members of the Four Horsemen in order to try and kill the Chainsaw Devil. As such, Makima created the division to use them again in order to defeat the Chainsaw Devil once and for all. This is despite some members, such as Katana Man and Reze, previously acting antagonistic towards her.
Due to their defeat, as well as Makima's demise, Special Division 5 disbanded. In the present, four of its members have joined the Chainsaw Man Church as its top-ranked members, while Katana Man and Quanxi have joined Public Safety. Reze is the only member whose whereabouts is currently unknown.
However, despite the original group's defeat, a second iteration of the group was formed once more to subdue the Chainsaw Devil, with its core members consisting of various Devils and Fiends.
Plot[]
Control Devil arc[]
Makima summons the special division in order to take Chainsaw Man down during his rampage. However, each member of the special division seemed to be acting under Makima's control rather than of their own free will, as most members, including Katana Man, Quanxi, and Reze, seemed to have lost all semblance of their original personality, with their sole desire now being to date Makima. That being said, other members seemed to have enough awareness to voice their own opinions, such as Barem commenting on everyone else's infatuation, and the Whip Hybrid pointing out how a date with Makima would only end in disaster.
Nevertheless, each member was willing to carry out Makima's order, and attempted to fight Chainsaw Man twice. Their first attempt ended disastrously due to Pochita ruthlessly tearing through them one by one, even withstanding many of their devastating attacks. The division later battled Pochita for the last time at a graveyard, and were once again defeated.
Since Hybrids are immortal and possess incredible regenerative abilities, all members allegedly survived the battle. Following Makima's death, each member broke free from her control and reverted back to their original personality. The group would then disband and go their separate ways as Makima was no longer around to keep the Weapon Humans under her control.
Current arc[]
The second iteration of Special Division Five is made up of six members: five of whom are either devils or fiends, and the sole human being the leader. Once Pochita takes back control of Denji's body due to the latter's despair over seeing Nayuta's severed head, the newly-formed iteration of Special Division 5 appear to confront him alongside several other Public Safety divisions.
The team is given orders to subdue Chainsaw Man by their superior, unaware that their target is right with them from behind. Before any of them can react in time, Pochita blitzes through each member, dismembering them to pieces. After slaughtering both Special Divisions 5 and 6, Pochita proceeds to erase the Ear Devil from existence by consuming its decapitated head.
